About Cameron Peoples
Cameron Peoples, a native Californian, was raised in a Christian home with three siblings, two older brothers and one older sister. While in California he served as a youth intern under his oldest brother. He is very passionate about karate and that is one of the reasons why he is here at Hands and Feet. He received his black belt when he was 17 years old and little did he know that he would be using that gift in Haiti!! When he graduated high school he took 3 semesters at Folsom Lake Junior College to take classes towards his personal trainers license. His first trip to Hands and Feet was in February 2009 with a group of eight, led by his sister, 5 of which have continued to return each year. His most recent group trip was in February 2011 when God began putting on his heart that he should serve the children of Haiti on a more permanent basis. He then decided to commit to a summer internship. His purpose was to teach the kids karate as a form of discipline as well as mentoring the boys ages 6-8. While he was in Haiti for the summer he really felt God stirring his heart and he knows he is doing what God has called him to do so now he has joined our team, committing to serve for the next year, yet is willing to stay however long the Lord reveals to him. The bible verse that led him to this decision was Hebrew 10: 36 – “Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do Gods will. Then you will receive all that He has promised.” He is excited to be a part of this ministry and to join our family full time.
