Building Walls... and Community
Building Walls... and Community

Things are slowly improving at HAF Project. Our new 260 foot flood wall is well underway.  The wall expands well past our property onto our neighbors' land in order to make all safe and secure in the event of future flooding.

Also, there is a newly renovated kitchen in one of the homes --including new cabinets, two double sinks for dishes and a new, larger gas stove-- thanks to Drex and Larry's handiwork.  The kids have been able to move back into two of the homes and we are almost back to status quo with the housing situation.  It is still a little crowded due to two homes still being uninhabitable, but we are managing.

Without your help, prayers and support we could not exist to help the children! Come and see us when you can!

YOUR DONATIONS ARE DESPERATELY NEEDED!

NOTE: Due to overwhelming response, we are not able to accept any physical donations (boxes of clothing, supplies, etc) at this time.  We are unable to ship many of these items, as the cost is exorbitant and postal service is highly unreliable.  Please consider making a financial donation to help off-set our clean-up and rebuilding costs!

We Are Living in a Rock Quarry...

Dear friends...

We are in need of MUCH prayer and financial support right now.  Hurricane Gustav has turned our  Children's Village into a rock quarry!  With our property completely buried in approximately 4-5 FEET of mountain rock, we are doing the best we can to begin the clean-up process. Our supplies (food, clothes, diapers, formula, etc) have all been destroyed and both houses where the kids lived were flooded with four feet of water and are currently unlivable. All 36 kids are living in the main house with the nannies.  Above is a picture of our newly constructed [and now destroyed] depot, garage, supply house and apartment.  Note the red in the middle... it is actually the roof of a very large truck that is now buried in the tons of rock that has poured down from the mountainside onto our property.  All of this just begins to give you an idea of the massive job ahead of us... more to come.
