We would not have qualified for this grant without you, your votes, and your willingness to help us share our story of the wonderful children we currently care for. We have applied again for a grant from Giving of Life and this time they are giving away a minimum of $10,000 for orphan care! Again, we cannot do this without YOU. Will you take a couple of minutes and vote for us, register to earn more votes, and then share? We promise it only takes a couple of minutes, but can make a huge difference! Thank you for playing a part in the stories of these children.

We are grateful that nothing like this has previously happened in the seven years that we have been in the area.

Through the Lords grace, mercy, and protection our staff and children were not physically harmed. However, our staff and children were immediately moved to a temporary home at our other site until security can be increased in Jacmel. Our top priority is that everyone remains safe while recovering from this event. Our team and children have been moved, and the children are truly enjoying spending time with their “cousins”, the Lord is truly deepening and nurturing relationships despite this chaotic event. The children in Grand Goave have welcomed their extended family into their new, temporary home. We are constantly receiving updates from the field of proud moments of our children, they have truly helped this transition flow smoothly.

“Kettia, the youngest girl who lives in Grand Goave had given her only other uniform to one of the Jacmel girls so that she would not feel left out at school. Since the Jacmel children are temporarily attending school in Grand Goave they were going to have to wear their blue & white uniforms; however, Kettia did not want one of them to feel left out, so she allowed another of the girls to wear her only other uniform! Then the rest of our girls followed..What a proud moment.”

Not only have the children been examples of Christ during this time, but other organizations in the area have truly shown us what it looks like to be the body of Christ. We would like to send a huge thank you to the staff at Mission of Hope and Be Like Brit for coming along side of us and helping construct a temporary building in a very short amount of time. We would also like to thank Tina for caring for our infants until they are able to move back home. We are praying that our children will be able to move home soon, but until then we know they are happy and enjoying this mini-vacation.

During this time we are clinging to John 10:10 “A thief comes to steal and kill and destroy, but I came to give Life…..Life in all its fullness.” We trust that the Lord is working through this difficult time and we are thankful for each and everyone of you who have come alongside us with your prayers, words of encouragement, and financial support. We have seen evidence of the Lord bringing life everytime we look in the eyes of one of our children and we trust that He will bring even more abundant life out of this.

We have been praying for them as they were preparing for this transition, and we ask that you join us in continuing to pray for them as they settle into their new home with their 3 children and the many they have just added to their family. We are excited to see how the Lord blesses the Mulligan family and our family as a whole. Thank you for supporting them in this new journey!

Will you take a minute and check them out?

The goal of Every Kid Should Know Haitian Ministry Project is to provide a children’s devotional book to kids in Haiti.

The book is entitled 10 Things Every Kid Should Know about God and it is written with the purpose of helping kids understand what having a relationship with God is all about. 10 Things Every Kid Should Know about God answers the foundational questions that children ages 8-12 often ask and must comprehend in order to strengthen their Christian walk in their youth. The book comes with a message that children do have a purpose and are called to serve in God’s Plan.

10 Things Every Kid Should Know about God has helped hundreds of kids and pre-teens solidify their faith and understand God’s purpose for them. It has been chosen as the Christian Small Publishers Association “Book of the Year” and is a book that every child should own.

So to make this book one that children everywhere can own, Leeway Artisans and Passion of the Heart Ministries have teamed with translators and editors to provide translated versions 10 Things Every Kid Should Know about God to children in Haiti, for free. We have set a goal to send 1000 books to orphanages and missions in Haiti by years end. We hope to reach youth in Haiti with the gospel message in the manner they can understand the most.

We are grateful that nothing like this has previously happened in the seven years that we have been in the area. Yet, after a series of robberies that had happened throughout Jacmel we were not surprised that they had come to our site, however, there is still no way to prepare for an event like that. Through the Lords grace, mercy, and protection our staff and children were not physically harmed. However, our staff and children did have to move to a temporary location until security can be increased in Jacmel. Our top priority is that everyone remains safe while recovering from this event. Our team and children have been moved, and the kids are loving hanging out with some new friends, the Lord is truly deepening and nurturing relationships despite this chaotic event. Even though we were lucky enough to come out uninjured the thieves did take a large amount of cash and electronics, we now need to replace what was taken as well as cover the costs of the emergency building that was put up in a short couple of days. Thank you to everyone who has already made a donation, trust that it has helped us on the recovery road! If you feel you are able to donate to help us replace these items or cover the costs of the temporary buildings please visit our GIVE NOW page and make a donation. More importantly, please remember our staff and children in your prayers, that this transition will continue to go smoothly and that the children will not get homesick until we are able to move them back home.
